Education is Not a Crime – Doc

Changing the World, One Wall at a Time is the story of how prominent Iranian-Canadian journalist Maziar Bahari put into motion the world’s largest street art campaign. To start of he was looking to bring a voice to an oppressed religious minority in Iran, hoping to fight violence and oppression with creativity. Starting small but soon drawing support from celebrities like Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers) and Rain wilson (The Office), the campaign quickly grew to include dozens of the world’s most prominent artists. Finding parallel examples of educational discrimination all over the world, The campaign Started in Tehran, painted the globe and eventually found a home in Harlem, New York, where the film takes a closer look at civil rights in America. It turns out that educational discrimination is a common method of oppression employed by states the world over. Using massive street art installations to fight this injustice, the campaign hopes to bring a fresh view point to an age old problem. Education should never be a crime.
